51st ITB Berlin, Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin
The 51st ITB Berlin, Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin, was held from 8-12 March 2017. This exhibition hosted 187 countries. Iran's pavilion at the Berlin ITB Exhibition covers an area of 1180 sq m in the hall No. 7 (B2). 35 tourism agencies, two airlines, Tabriz Municipality and the Railways of the Islamic Republic of Iran have taken part in this exhibition. Reports showed that it was for the first time that numerous Iranian travel agencies and firms have taken part in the exhibition.

At pavilion of the Touring and Automobile Club of I.R.I with support of the cultural section of the embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran at Berlin, and cooperation and assistance of Mr. Aliakbar Tarighatjoo, Iran’s tourism information representative, information were provided for tourists interested to visit Iran by personal vehicles. It is worth saying that Mr. Morteza Haji, president of Touring & Automobile club of the I.R.I, attended to the exhibition and met with clients and some of the Iranian and non-Iranian officials from the relevant institutions and organizations.

Among the visitors were Taleb Rifai, the current Secretary-General of the United Nations’ World Tourism Organization, who was in Germany to attend the 7th UNWTO Silk Road Ministers Meeting, and Indian Minister of Tourism, visited the Iran pavilion accompanied by Morteza Rahmani Movahhed, the deputy head of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO).

Zahra Ahmadipour, head of the cultural heritage, handicrafts and tourism organization attended the opening ceremony of the Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin (ITB Berlin). During her stay, she held separate talks with Claudia Roth, the deputy president of the German Parliament, and Taleb Rifai. Mr. Rifai addressed that according to the statistics tourism has shown growth in Iran in recent years, and added that China could be an important tourism target for Iran.

Berlin ITB Exhibition (Internationale Tourismus-Börse) is one of the most important tourism exhibitions in Europe which has always been a platform for countries to introduce their tourist attractions. Officials at this exhibition tried to implement specific measures to encourage the residents of Berlin to visit the exhibition.
